Høyer Finseth is a Norwegian building, engineering, and consulting firm formed by a 2012 merger that combined offices in Oslo, Revetal, Råde, and Ålesund. The merger left the company with two different mail platforms—Micro Focus GroupWise and Microsoft Exchange—and the IT team needed to unify messaging on a single Exchange 2010 system while minimizing user downtime and preserving historical data.

Using Micro Focus Retain Email, Høyer Finseth archived legacy Exchange data and migrated GroupWise mail into the new Exchange environment, selectively moving items by age and size to keep the live mailbox store small. After thorough testing, the cutover was completed in a single weekend; the result is a centralized, searchable archive integrated with Outlook/OWA, deduplication-driven storage savings, and better control over Exchange capacity while retaining complete records of company communications.
