Hydro Quebec Generates Improved Employee Communications with OpenText Solutions

Hydro‑Québec, North America’s largest hydroelectric utility, faced a fragmented intranet of over 300 sites, eight separate Content Server instances, and more than 200,000 active documents. Site editors had to log in to multiple repositories and could not search across them in a single query, so the company set out to redesign its intranet to improve usability, eliminate data silos, and give publishers a single web-based client for creating and managing content.

Hydro‑Québec implemented OpenText Web Site Management with Delivery Server native integration and the Generic Bridge, adding single sign‑on and customized HQ Fetch/HQ XML Export/HQ Search functions to enable seamless, cross‑repository queries and publishing. The solution streamlined authoring and search, ensured secure, up‑to‑date document delivery (snapshot or secured link), improved ROI on Content Server, met compliance needs, and delivered a centralized, more accessible intranet experience for over 20,000 employees.
