Huntington Bank, a full-service regional bank with more than 600 branches, needed to consolidate customer data into a unified view while meeting evolving regulatory and security mandates. The bank wanted to safely adopt cloud applications (notably Salesforce.com) and simplify logins—reducing password-reset calls—without sharing corporate passwords with cloud providers.
By deploying NetIQ Identity Manager and NetIQ Access Manager, Huntington automated provisioning and deprovisioning (loading ~8,000 Salesforce accounts overnight), tied access to HR-driven events, and implemented federated web SSO so credentials are never shared. The result was faster, more secure colleague access, reduced administrative overhead, improved customer service, and a scalable foundation for future cloud adoption.
