HUK-COBURG - Customer Case Study

HUK-COBURG is a major German insurer (about 9,000 employees) with a complex, heterogeneous IT landscape and an online subsidiary (HUK24). To guarantee uninterrupted customer service and prevent downtime, the company needed reliable end‑to‑end functional, regression and performance testing; their previous GUI monitoring tool had functional and maintenance limitations, so a more flexible, low‑maintenance solution was required.

HUK-COBURG implemented Micro Focus Silk4J (Eclipse/Java automated functional and regression testing) and Silk Performer (load and performance testing) in about three months. Today automated GUI checks run every four minutes from 7am–8pm across 50 business transactions (about 10,000 tests/day), quickly surfacing roughly ten mostly minor issues daily; Silk Performer secures HUK24’s website performance. The result is faster error detection and resolution, more stable operations, and a stronger overall QA posture.
