HPE IT increases and stabilizes performance with intelligent archiving from Micro Focus Structured Data Manager

HPE faced rapidly growing data volumes that were degrading application performance, risking SLAs and impeding compliance and eDiscovery. With hundreds to thousands of global users querying large production databases, millions of aging records were slowing response times and reducing productivity.

HPE implemented Micro Focus Structured Data Manager D2D archiving to move historical data off expensive Tier 0 storage to Tier 1/2 while preserving seamless search and retrieval. Over five years they archived more than 100 billion rows (about 83 TB compressed), reduced query times by up to 89%, cut Tier 0 storage needs by up to 48% (and a further 15% after migration), shortened backup/restore windows by up to 48% and improved query performance an additional 43%, delivering stabilized performance, lower storage costs and faster data access.
