A OpenText Case Study
Gaston Memorial Hospital, a 442‑bed not‑for‑profit acute care facility in North Carolina, struggled with slow, paper‑based administrative workflows that led to lost forms, no tracking or accountability, and lengthy approval cycles—for example, 100–150 monthly job postings that could take weeks to approve. Manual incident reporting, HR paperwork and billing charge‑master requests created errors, delays and frustrated staff.
The hospital implemented OpenText MBPM with web and GroupWise integration to automate and route processes. More than 15 workflows (HR, incident tracking, charge‑master, financial reporting, etc.) are now electronic, cutting paper and manual work, improving accuracy and accountability, and giving managers real‑time visibility. Results include faster turnaround (job postings now under a day), reduced errors and costs, higher employee satisfaction, and plans to expand automation across the organization.
