Preview of the Helvetia Case Study

High administration costs and constantly increasing compliance requirements in the insurance industry threatened Helvetia’s competitiveness

Helvetia needed to streamline staff administration and centralize user management across a complex application landscape. Working with OpenText Consulting and OpenText NetIQ Identity Manager, the insurer aimed to simplify provisioning, improve control, and meet strict compliance and auditing requirements for around 5,000 staff identities.

OpenText implemented a central identity management solution on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, connecting 30 internal applications and integrating with SAP ERP HCM and multiple systems such as LDAP, Active Directory, Lotus Notes, SAP, SOAP, and RACF. The result was automated onboarding that reduced new employee setup from about four hours to three minutes, a 98% time saving, while cutting the team from eight people handling repetitive tasks to five skilled employees and enabling secure access for 50,000 customers through a new portal.
