A OpenText Case Study
UPMC, a leading integrated health system with 19 regional hospitals and more than 25,000 employees, needed to consolidate report output from a new PeopleSoft Financials implementation and legacy mainframe applications while providing timely access to a geographically distributed user base. The existing process was manual and slow—report delivery took 8–14 days, involved 11 clerks, and served some 700 department heads—creating significant delays and printing costs.
UPMC implemented OpenText Report & Output Management to merge reports across platforms, provide web and Windows access, and automate distribution without changing mainframe apps. The solution gave instant access to reports for roughly 1,200 users, eliminated manual clerk work, reduced print volume from the old financial system by 350,000 pages, and saved about 176 man-hours, dramatically improving timeliness and security of critical data.
