Haga Hospital Improves Patient Record Health and Reduces Costs with OpenText

HagaZiekenhuis (Haga Hospital) in The Hague is a 3,600‑staff teaching hospital that embarked on a major IT and facilities overhaul to digitize patient records and centralize clinical information in SAP. The hospital faced delays and patient‑safety risks from paper records, poor interoperability between systems, and mounting storage costs and space pressures from physical archives.

Working with partner X‑Center, Haga implemented OpenText Document Access for SAP, including an HL7 connector for seamless data exchange, scanning and indexing workflows, and over 1.3 million documents migrated. The solution delivers fast, hospital‑wide access to complete patient records, improves patient safety during transfers, strengthens security and auditability, frees physical space and reduces storage and printing costs, and provides a foundation for future digital extensions.
