A OpenText Case Study
Orica, a global leader in commercial explosives and blasting systems with about 12,000 employees across 57 countries, faced a fragmented, post‑acquisition SAP landscape and scattered content in DMS, Lotus Notes, SharePoint and file shares. Working in highly regulated, safety‑critical markets, the company needed a single, governed source of truth to control tens of thousands of controlled documents, remove process variability and mitigate risks such as duplicate or fraudulent invoices.
Orica implemented OpenText Extended ECM for SAP, OpenText Vendor Invoice Management and Extended ECM for SuccessFactors, deployed on Microsoft Azure with support from Chrome Consulting and OpenText Professional Services, and integrated into its move to SAP S/4HANA. The solution centralized documentation and workflows, standardized processes across 57 countries and 8 languages, gave better visibility and control (processing over 55,000 VIM documents monthly), and eliminated invoice risk while enabling consistent, auditable business and HR processes for 12,000 employees.
