Frontier Airlines Uses Open Text Document Management Solution to Keep the Planes Flying On Time

Frontier Airlines, a Denver-based carrier with a rapidly growing fleet and hundreds of daily departures, faced costly operational bottlenecks from paper-based maintenance records and contracts stored offsite. Retrieving flight logs and inspection paperwork could take around 30 minutes, risking departure delays, FAA noncompliance, lost productivity and limited scalability as the airline expanded.

Frontier implemented Open Text Document Server (with Scan and Fax modules), OCR and web access to digitize and index roughly half a million records, enabling immediate workstation and tarmac access for mechanics and staff. The system became the FAA‑approved archive, eliminated dozens of filing cabinets, supported fleet growth without large increases in records staff, improved on-time performance and delivered rapid ROI.
