Friotherm AG, a Swiss manufacturer of industrial heating and cooling systems, faced an urgent IT challenge: aging PCs and a planned migration from Windows XP to Windows 7 across 60 desktops and laptops that would have taken months and significant manual effort. With users running up to 130 applications per PC, the company needed a faster, lower-cost approach to avoid major disruption.

Working with partner Nexpert, Friotherm upgraded to ZENworks 11 and used Micro Focus ZENworks Configuration Management with the ENGL Imaging Toolkit to build a single standardized Windows 7 image and automate deployment. The rollout finished in half the time and at half the cost of competing solutions, cut new-machine setup from half a day to 90 minutes, and enabled centralized, role-based patching and application updates—reducing IT workload and improving productivity.
