Fishburns Solicitors, a UK professional indemnity law firm, relied on tape-based backups that were slow to restore, labor-intensive to rebuild servers, and difficult to test—leaving the firm unsure it could recover quickly enough to avoid client disruption. They needed a low-cost disaster recovery solution that delivered rapid restores and frequent testability to meet regulatory and client expectations.
Working with Trans European Technology, Fishburns deployed a Micro Focus PlateSpin Forge appliance (reusing existing SAN hardware) to protect three critical systems across nine servers. The solution lets workloads be powered in a self-contained recovery environment and tested anytime, reducing administrative effort, enabling full server recovery within two hours, and cutting total recovery to normal operations from an estimated 10 days to about 36 hours while providing near‑continuous client service.
