Filr Advanced streamlines collaboration for students and staff without compromising on data security

Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS) is a regional higher-education institution in Austria with five campuses, about 2,200 students and a growing number of part-time and distance learners and staff. CUAS needed a way for students and employees to access and collaborate on documents from anywhere while keeping full control of data storage (cloud solutions were not an option), minimizing administration overhead, and leveraging existing user directories and network folders.

CUAS implemented Micro Focus Filr Advanced with support from partner ACP IT Solutions, deploying the appliance-based client to 2,500 desktops and laptops and integrating with on‑premise storage. The result: faster, more productive team collaboration, preserved data control and lower admin effort through online updates and on-demand sync, broad device support, and positive user feedback; CUAS is now exploring SharePoint integration and multi-factor authentication for enhanced flexibility and security.
