Engie Electrabel, Belgium’s largest energy producer and supplier with 2.5 million customers, needed to modernize its digital customer experience and reduce risk and operational costs as information volumes grew. The firm wanted to move SAP-related customer documentation off-premises to simplify its IT landscape, lower support overhead and remain compliant—requiring a seamless migration of about 27 TB without disrupting day-to-day operations.
Working with OpenText, Engie Electrabel deployed OpenText Core Archive for SAP Solutions on the OpenText Cloud and migrated the 27 TB archive with no business impact. The cloud archive simplified infrastructure, lowered and stabilized costs, improved security and administration (ISO 27001/SOC 2), enabled customer access via the MyEngie portal, now processes 3.5 million new documents monthly for 6,000 SAP users (peaks of 57,000 retrievals/hour), and set the stage for OCR, NLP, RPA and CRM integrations.
