A OpenText Case Study
EMI Music, a major global record company representing labels such as Capitol, Parlophone and Virgin and artists including The Beatles and Coldplay, faced a growing IT challenge: dozens of distributed applications and local, paper-based processes with limited cross-territory visibility. The company needed an efficient, ITIL‑compliant way to manage and communicate global application changes, reduce conflicts with external IT partners, and meet audit requirements under Sarbanes‑Oxley and Basel II.
EMI implemented the Serena (now Micro Focus) Teamtrack/SBM platform to track and manage change requests, automate change lifecycles and generate CAB schedules and reports. The solution delivered simplified, scalable change management with full process visibility and audit trails, automated credit-control and royalties workflows, SLA-driven helpdesk handling, and faster process transformation—benefiting roughly 1,500 users and improving compliance, reporting and customer satisfaction.
