St Mary MacKillop College Canberra faced the challenge of securely connecting students, teachers, parents, and multiple cloud services across two campuses while supporting remote learning and managing over 10,000 user touch points. With a very small IT team, the college needed better identity management, endpoint control, and secure access to sensitive information, especially as COVID-19 accelerated the shift to online learning. OpenText products including NetIQ, ZENworks, and ArcSight were used to help meet these demands.
OpenText implemented automated identity provisioning and role-based access with NetIQ, centralized device management and remote application deployment with ZENworks, and stronger security monitoring and incident response with ArcSight. As a result, St Mary MacKillop College Canberra improved security, reduced manual IT work, streamlined support for Google, Azure, and Office 365 integration, and sped up threat response. The solution also helped the college manage over 1,500 groups and keep users automatically removed when they left, freeing the IT team to focus on higher-value work.
