Preview of the McGraw-Hill Case Study

Education publisher McGraw-Hill’s online applications can face up to 30,000 concurrent users. Efficient load testing is vital and OpenText™ LoadRunner™ Cloud is the answer

McGraw-Hill, the education publisher, needed a more efficient way to run load and performance tests for online applications that can see up to 30,000 concurrent users, especially during seasonal peaks. Managing test assets and load generators was time-consuming and errors were causing delays, so the company turned to OpenText, using OpenText Core Performance Engineering alongside its existing OpenText performance engineering tools.

OpenText implemented a cloud-based testing approach that let McGraw-Hill upload scripts and run tests without managing hardware load generation. With OpenText, testing and result generation became automated, performance test cycles were shortened, and the team was able to increase test levels and focus more on engineering work. McGraw-Hill also reported testing up to 50,000 concurrent users, with improved accuracy and faster time to market.
