Dubai Police, a force of more than 15,000 employees, needed to replace a slow, manual process for identifying wanted vehicles with a faster, real-time system that could work across the UAE’s varied plate styles, languages, and traffic conditions. Working with OpenText and its OpenText™ Knowledge Discovery product, the police aimed to improve vehicle detection and keep patrol cars updated with the latest wanted-vehicle data.

OpenText implemented a mobile ANPR solution with integrated cameras and real-time data synchronization, including patrol-car updates every three minutes and immediate push alerts for newly wanted vehicles. The result was instant access to up-to-the-minute information and more effective, efficient real-time response, enabling Dubai Police to identify vehicles on busy streets with greater accuracy and speed.
