A OpenText Case Study
The UK’s Department for International Development (DFID), which leads the UK’s work to end extreme poverty, faced a failing electronic document and records management system that users were abandoning by 2013. Performance and usability issues led staff to store files on local drives, creating security risks, hindering collaboration and knowledge sharing—especially for remote, low‑bandwidth locations.
DFID moved to a managed cloud deployment of OpenText Content Suite with Remote Cache and Enterprise Connect, capturing about nine million documents and integrating seamlessly with Microsoft Office. The rollout boosted user adoption and compliance, cut document retrieval from minutes to seconds, eliminated data loss from laptop storage, improved remote performance to near office levels, and reduced internal support overhead and total cost of ownership.
