LASEN provides airborne LIDAR pipeline inspection (ALPIS) services that have flown over 140,000 miles and detected more than 16,000 leaks, generating substantial customer savings. Because the system is entirely software-driven and operated from a laptop in-flight, intermittent crashes, mysterious errors (suspected memory leaks/invalid pointers) and performance regressions during a move from Windows 7/XP to Windows 10 threatened field reliability and regulatory reporting.
LASEN implemented Micro Focus DevPartner integrated with Visual Studio; BoundsChecker pinpointed memory leaks and corruption while TrueTime identified performance bottlenecks for the Windows 10 migration. The tools improved code stability, made upgrades safer and easier to validate, and gave the team confidence that their software is reliableāhelping LASEN maintain service quality and its technology edge.
