deltaDNA helps game developers improve player acquisition and retention by turning massive volumes of gameplay data into real-time behavioral insight. Using OpenText’s Vertica software, deltaDNA set out to help studios quickly detect when players are frustrated, bored, or highly engaged so they could react before players dropped off.

OpenText’s Vertica enabled deltaDNA to run very fast queries across billions of events per month, with 99.9% of messages processed within 200 milliseconds and results up to 60 times faster than competing tools. The impact was significant: game experiences could respond in milliseconds, player engagement increased by as much as 350%, and some customers saw a six-fold revenue increase, while development cycles also became much faster.
