A OpenText Case Study
Migros, Switzerland’s largest retailer and a cooperative with more than two million members, faced growing complexity as it moved toward a cloud-first IT strategy and a hybrid development model—waterfall for large SAP systems and Agile/DevOps for web apps. The testing team needed consistent test management, greater transparency for audits, reduced maintenance overhead, and faster time to market while supporting both legacy SAP processes and modern CI/CD workflows.
Migros adopted Micro Focus ALM Octane SaaS (alongside ALM/Quality Center, UFT One and BPT), migrating 100,000 test scripts and 10,000 defect records and integrating with Jenkins, GitLab and JIRA via REST APIs and Micro Focus Connect. SaaS deployment and SSO simplified onboarding and eliminated on-premises administration, while test automation and CI integration improved regression coverage. The result: streamlined test automation, better process governance and visibility, cost savings, and faster delivery of releases across the hybrid development lifecycle.
