A OpenText Case Study
Bon Secours Mercy Health, a Catholic healthcare system formed by merger operating over 1,000 sites and employing more than 60,000 people, needed to streamline testing and adopt agile practices after a large increase in application work. The QA team formed a DevOps taskforce to introduce agile development with integrated security, migrate more than 5,000 legacy test cases, and find a user-friendly, SaaS-based solution that would boost productivity without adding headcount.
The organization implemented Micro Focus ALM Octane in a cloud/SaaS model, integrating it with existing ALM/Quality Center, UFT One, LoadRunner Enterprise and Fortify, training 300 users and migrating historic test content. ALM Octane’s collaboration features, easier script creation/import, and early defect detection delivered about a 20% increase in testing productivity, faster, more in-depth testing, fewer production issues, and the agility needed to rapidly respond to COVID-19 (including video visit rollout to 750+ sites), improving overall patient experience.
