FIS-ASP, which manages backup requirements for more than 250 clients, faced the challenge of protecting over 10,000 daily backup sessions and more than three petabytes of monthly data in a high-availability environment. Many of its customers run SAP or SAP HANA on Linux, so reliable, non-disruptive backup and recovery were essential. OpenText Data Protector was used as the backup and disaster recovery platform, alongside OpenText Premium Support.

OpenText implemented Data Protector with native SAP and database integration, virtualized backup infrastructure, and mirrored, redundant data centers to maintain service continuity and meet strict SLAs. The results included online backups without impacting source systems, fast recovery capabilities, and successful restoration of accidentally deleted production data in just minutes. OpenText also helped FIS-ASP strengthen ransomware protection through off-site and tape backups, while expected deduplication enhancements promise even greater storage efficiency.
