CSH Surrey is a UK not‑for‑profit social enterprise delivering community healthcare to roughly 300,000 patients with about 750 staff. Facing the need to move a mixed estate of VMware and physical servers into a shared data centre and a Microsoft Hyper‑V private cloud, the organisation needed a low‑risk approach to avoid any service interruptions that could affect patient care.
CSH Surrey used Micro Focus PlateSpin Migrate to copy, model and test migrations for 25 physical and virtual servers, run dry‑runs, and automate the switch to the new Hyper‑V environment remotely. The move completed in under an hour (saving an estimated 35 hours of downtime versus a physical lift‑and‑shift), reduced risk, cut planning time and delivered a hassle‑free, low‑impact migration.
