Coca-Cola Amatil automates email order processing

Coca‑Cola Amatil, one of the largest Coca‑Cola bottlers in the Asia‑Pacific region, was handling a growing volume of customer orders sent by email—about 90,000 per year—which required time‑consuming manual entry because many trading partners lacked EDI capabilities. This manual process was inefficient, error‑prone and constrained order cutoff times and staff resources.

Amatil deployed OpenText Email2EDI (supported by Capture Center and OpenText B2B Managed Services) to convert email and PDF orders into machine‑readable data that populates backend systems like SAP and the OpenText Trading Grid. The initial rollout automated ~15,000 orders for eight partners and expanded to New Zealand, delivering 100% order accuracy, faster processing with cutoff extended from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, elimination of data‑entry errors, greater visibility, and the redeployment/promotion of four staff—without requiring customers to change their ordering methods.
