City of Amsterdam Development Corporation (OGA) is responsible for long-term urban development and property management in Amsterdam, handling roughly three million documents across more than 25 departments. With only about 500,000 documents easily retrievable from two archives, staff relied on mailed files and USB drives, creating retrieval, security and compliance challenges and prompting an 18‑month change program to find a better, user-friendly solution.

OGA implemented DOCwerker, built on OpenText ECM Suite with support from OpenText and Logica, providing a single, secure repository with a familiar, personalized user interface. The system—used by more than 600 people daily—improved search and retrieval, reduced ad‑hoc file sharing, supported compliance with regulations, enabled more flexible working and set the stage for wider rollout across the municipality.
