CGT - Customer Case Study

Compagnia Generale Trattori (CGT), the official Caterpillar dealer for north and central Italy with 26 branches and about 950 employees, faced slow, manual management of user identities and access across a heterogeneous IT landscape (IBM i, Windows, Lotus Domino, SAP). Inconsistent profile data, lengthy provisioning times and repeated logins created security gaps and frustrated the business.

CGT implemented NetIQ Identity Manager and Access Manager with partners Unisys Italia, Aglea and Netstudio to centralize identities, automate provisioning from SAP HR and extend secure web authentication. New-user setup now takes minutes with automatic synchronization across directories, improving IT responsiveness, increasing security (including timely disabling of leavers) and simplifying remote access, with SecureLogin SSO planned next.
