CareerBuilder, the U.S.’s largest online job site with more than 23 million monthly unique visitors and over 300,000 employers posting more than 1 million jobs, supports career sites for thousands of partner websites and relies heavily on its web operations. The development and operations teams were overwhelmed with ad hoc requests and needed a way to channel, prioritize, and deliver work coming from the site and internal stakeholders.
CareerBuilder implemented a Micro Focus SBM–based ticketing system to automate and optimize processes linking the web front end to operations, expanding it to manage orders, QA, site issues, idea intake, customer care, sales ops, projects, and help desk functions, with SharePoint integration for document visibility. The result: 2,000 employees can submit tickets processed by 200 technology staff, process-based apps can be prototyped and deployed in about five business days, and teams gained end-to-end visibility and the agility to make rapid workflow and QA changes.
