Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences, which serves nearly 3,000 students, needed to simplify and standardize student and staff account management across multiple systems and departments to ensure fast access to teaching materials and to tighten security — including automatic deactivation and removal of former students’ accounts.
Working with partner araneaNET, the university deployed NetIQ Identity Manager (with NetIQ eDirectory, Active Directory, OpenLDAP, Apple Open Directory, Moodle integration, Domain Services, NetIQ Self Service Password Reset and Sentinel Log Manager) in a high-availability configuration. The centralized, automated workflows and self-service portal sped up account provisioning, reduced manual errors and support requests, and improved security and compliance throughout the student lifecycle.
