BPER Services, the IT and service arm of BPER Group—a leading Italian banking group with about 1,300 branches—needed to professionalize and automate its application testing to meet regulatory quality controls and support a shift from traditional IT support to multichannel business enablement. Their existing mix of open-source tools was fragmented and became slow and hard to scale, so BPER sought a unified approach to automate functional and mobile testing and to master the end-to-end application delivery cycle.

BPER deployed Micro Focus Application Lifecycle Management plus Unified Functional Testing, Sprinter, Business Process Testing and Mobile Center to standardize processes, centralize visibility and automate tests across development methods. The new platform cut manual intervention, improved reporting, dramatically reduced production defects, sped up delivery (doubling test performance) and helped the organization bring new services to market faster while meeting compliance requirements.
