boxIT, a managed cloud and IT services provider, needed a simpler, more reliable way to back up and restore the growing number of virtual machines in its private cloud. Using OpenText VM Explorer, the company wanted to avoid heavy system overhead and eliminate the need to install software on each VM while still protecting all client data efficiently.

OpenText implemented VM Explorer to snapshot and back up whole VMs using VMware vSphere ESXi functions, enabling centralized, low-impact backups and fast restores. boxIT now runs eight simultaneous backups totaling over 95 TB per week without slowing servers, reduced setup and labor costs, and completed a full data center migration over two months with 12 to 15 sequential replications.
