Bausch + Lomb - Customer Case Study

Bausch + Lomb, a global eye‑health organization with over 12,000 employees, faced fragmented, manual processes across finance, HR, logistics, R&D and compliance after originally using Lotus Notes and copying code between environments. The company needed to standardize, automate and manage operational workflows—while meeting strict regulatory requirements such as FDA and Sarbanes‑Oxley compliance—and modernize its Oracle PeopleSoft application lifecycle.

Bausch + Lomb deployed Micro Focus PPM as an enterprise workflow engine, integrating it with ERP and other systems, replacing manual tools, and adding searchable change tracking and automated migrations. With help from Melillo Consulting, PPM was rolled out to about 2,200 users (including a 200‑user group in Ireland that automated purchase requisitions and reduced two contractors), streamlined change validation and compliance, transformed management of HCM/FSCM/EPM/CRM platforms, and delivered nearly $17 million in savings over 14 years through automation, headcount reductions, and improved quality.
