Bakkersland, a Dutch baker operating 15 bakeries that supply supermarkets, stores and institutions, faced frequent supply-chain risk because many suppliers required faxes sent over costly ISDN lines. Transmission failures were only discovered by manual checks, causing time-consuming follow-ups, poor end-to-end visibility and the potential to halt production when ingredients or packaging didn’t arrive.

Working with partner Nokavision, Bakkersland implemented cloud-based OpenText Notifications integrated with OpenText Exstream and its ERP, eliminating on-premises hardware and ISDN costs. The service provides automatic retrying, email failure alerts within 10–15 minutes, PDF archiving and ERP updates, delivering improved transparency, lower costs and reduced risk with a payback in about 18 months.
