Bajaj Allianz tests performance with Micro Focus® Performance Center to minimize risk

Bajaj Allianz, one of India’s largest insurers, needed to upgrade its life-insurance Oracle database from 10g to 11g to maintain support and improve performance for about 4,000 concurrent users across 1,500 offices. Concerned that the upgrade might degrade performance and lacking in-house performance-testing expertise, the company sought a fast, low-cost way to benchmark the system and minimize upgrade risk.

They engaged KPIT to run Micro Focus Performance Center v12 on a SaaS setup (1 controller, 3 load generators, 300 virtual Oracle users) to test the upgrade; testing uncovered unoptimized database queries that were fixed before production, enabling a smooth rollout within a month without buying test licenses or diverting internal staff. The result: policy issuance time dropped from up to 15 minutes to about 7–8 minutes, stable performance for 4,000 users, and a successful, low-risk upgrade.
