A OpenText Case Study
Auckland Transport needed to make sense of rapidly growing CCTV, traffic, and transit data to improve road safety, spot congestion and enforcement issues, and provide real-time insight to stakeholders. Working with OpenText, the agency adopted video recording and analytics powered by OpenText Knowledge Discovery to turn massive streams of transport data into actionable intelligence.
OpenText implemented an analytics platform that integrates CCTV video, incident management, Vertica, and warehouse data to support real-time monitoring and reporting. The results include more than 500 video analytics running on 200+ cameras, 1TB of train CCTV data extracted monthly, and over 8PB of street-camera data processed weekly; batch processing time also dropped from more than 4.5 hours to 2 hours, helping Auckland Transport make faster decisions, improve safety for 1.4 million citizens, and automate special vehicle lane enforcement.
