Atos Origin uses Micro Focus Sentinel to secure IT Systems for the Youth Olympic Games

Atos Origin, the International Olympic Committee’s worldwide IT partner, was tasked with designing, building and operating the IT infrastructure for the inaugural 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore. The high‑profile, two‑week event needed secure, highly available support for more than 3,000 devices and critical systems (results processing, broadcaster feeds, accreditation, logistics and public websites), with only seconds available for detection and response to any security incident.

Atos Origin implemented NetIQ Sentinel Enterprise as its SIEM to aggregate thousands of device feeds, correlate events, and apply real‑time, risk‑based prioritization of incidents. Sentinel reduced roughly 90 million raw security events to 3 million prioritized items for review, enabled early detection and fast resolution of up to 35 serious incidents per day, and ensured the Games’ IT services ran smoothly and securely.
