Arkin - Customer Case Study

Arkin, one of the Netherlands’ largest mental healthcare providers, treats about 35,000 people a year across some 80 locations and employs around 3,600 staff. Faced with the need to keep large volumes of patient data secure while ensuring reliable, mobile access and controlling IT costs, Arkin set out to refresh its infrastructure to improve operational efficiency and flexibility.

Working with partner TDMi, Arkin upgraded to Micro Focus solutions—migrating from NetWare to Open Enterprise Server on SUSE Linux in a virtualized environment, and updating GroupWise and ZENworks for collaboration and centralized endpoint management under a three-year support agreement. The new platform streamlines administration, dramatically reduces hardware needs (supporting thousands of users on three mail servers versus an estimated 240 with a competing option), lowers total cost of ownership, and frees IT staff to focus on higher‑value work while future‑proofing the organization.
