Argos Underpins Digital Transformation Strategy With Opentext

Argos, the UK’s leading multichannel retailer with 53,000+ products, 840 stores and a hugely visited website, launched a major digital transformation to unify in-store, online and mobile channels. Rapid product growth (toward 100,000 SKUs), faster click-and-collect and same‑day delivery requirements, and a legacy, catalog-focused asset repository that was manual and produced version sprawl made a scalable digital asset management solution essential.

Argos chose OpenText Media Management integrated with its PIM to provide a single master asset, automate workflows, and allow supplier uploads. Nearly 300,000 assets were migrated and suppliers now add 300–400 assets daily for access by 250+ users; video is standardized to MP4 and renditions are generated per channel. The solution improved productivity, accuracy and multichannel efficiency, cut repetitive manual tasks, and is expected to deliver full ROI within two to three years.
