Case Study: Alfa-Bank achieves centralized enterprise load testing and reduced downtime with OpenText Performance Center

A OpenText Case Study

Preview of the Alfa Bank Case Study

Applications run like clockwork with Micro Focus® Performance Center

Alfa-Bank, one of Russia’s largest private banks serving 22 million customers, faced high risks and costs from unplanned downtime (estimated up to $200,000/hour) and a growing volume of changes across 75 business‑critical applications. Performance testing was fragmented across different tools and teams, creating licensing, knowledge-transfer and process-visibility problems that increased the likelihood of operational errors during updates.

The bank deployed Micro Focus Performance Center (built on LoadRunner) in a phased rollout to centralize and standardize enterprise load testing. The platform created an integrated workspace with real‑time resource management, reduced managerial overhead, streamlined testing processes (20+ systems connected to date), and supports integration with ALM and future Jenkins/DevOps pipelines—improving reliability, lowering downtime risk, and delivering an expected payback in about two years.
