American Management Systems (AMS) is a global business and IT consulting firm that supports government, financial services and communications clients. AMS faced a costly, time-consuming and error-prone process of developing, maintaining and debugging mainframe applications directly on the mainframe and needed to move that work to the PC to increase productivity and reduce client mainframe charges.

AMS adopted Micro Focus Mainframe Express to emulate the mainframe on the PC, providing an integrated development and debugging environment that was easy to implement and use. The move increased developer productivity, added functionality not available on the mainframe, and cut AMS’s mainframe charges by about 50%, enabling cost savings and faster delivery for its customers.
