AMA Education System, the Philippines’ largest private education network with about 150,000 students across 200+ campuses, needed to add software testing skills to its curriculum to meet growing employer demand. The challenge was to roll out a practical, low‑cost program across roughly 100 locations where unreliable internet and the impracticality of in‑person external training made typical online or classroom delivery difficult.
AMA partnered with Micro Focus to deliver a train‑the‑trainer solution: a three‑week instructor program for ~40 lecturers, supported by e‑book materials, student kits and temporary software licenses, enabling a three‑month course to be taught locally and initially enrolling 5,000 students. The approach enabled fast rollout, kept costs competitive, provided Micro Focus certification, improved graduate employability, increased AMA’s attractiveness to prospective students, and paved the way for international expansion.
