ALM Octane and Vertica team up to deliver data-driven insights into application testing effort for digital transformation project

World Wide Technology (WWT), a $10.4B global technology solutions provider, undertook a major reimplementation and cloud migration of its Oracle E-Business Suite, creating huge, complex testing demands. While ALM Octane supported their agile DevOps testing at scale, WWT struggled with slow, fragile reporting as test data grew (about 11,000 rows and rising), and needed an enterprise-grade, real-time analytics platform to make data-driven decisions.

WWT combined ALM Octane (with Micro Focus UFT, LoadRunner and StormRunner) to organize tests, track defects and streamline multi-team handoffs, and integrated ALM Octane and ServiceNow output into Vertica for scalable analytics. The result was faster, real-time reporting and granular visibility (burn-down charts, velocity metrics), improved collaboration across 800 users, and more confident, data-driven management of the large-scale project.
