A OpenText Case Study
YRGLM, a leading Japanese market analysis firm, launched Audience EBiS to deliver people-based customer journey and exposure analysis across multiple touchpoints. The challenge was to analyze up to 10 billion pieces of measured data per year in real time and provide ad hoc, per-customer profiling and journey visualization—capabilities that conventional relational databases and appliance solutions could not deliver at scale or without service interruptions.
YRGLM built the platform on the OpenText Vertica Analytics Platform, a columnar, MPP database that minimized I/O and scaled linearly by adding nodes without downtime. Performance tests showed roughly 2x improvement at five nodes and 3.5x at ten nodes, enabling real-time ad hoc analysis, projection-based tuning, and pattern matching for customer journeys. The result was the successful launch of Audience EBiS with high-speed big-data analytics, improved ROI measurements, scalable operations, and a roadmap to add machine learning–driven recommendations.
