A OpenText Case Study
The city charter school system—serving almost 16,000 students across nearly 50 schools and aiming to grow to 100 schools and 50,000 students in 10 years—faced mounting data challenges. With up to 20,000 applications each year and 3,000 admitted students to onboard, information was spread across multiple siloed systems (HR, payroll, facilities and homegrown apps), creating manual rework, errors and delays in creating class rosters and keeping records current.
Phase I of an integration strategy deployed OpenText Alloy to synchronize data across systems, accommodate diverse file types and automatically propagate changes. The solution reduced input errors, improved data accuracy and governance, processed nearly half a million transactions in the first months, saved more than $525,000 over three years, was implemented within two months, and positioned the district to scale enrollment and services as it grows.
