Abu Dhabi Airports Expansion Takes Off with OpenText

Abu Dhabi Airports, managing the rapid expansion of Abu Dhabi International Airport including the new Midfield Terminal Building (MTB), faced a complex construction program with many internal teams and external contractors and more than two million document versions to control. Their existing contract-management point solution lacked workflow, collaboration, effective search and full audit trails, so the Capital Projects team needed a scalable, long‑term content platform to ensure reliable, audited access and a smooth handover of documentation for ongoing operations.

Following a formal tender, Abu Dhabi Airports selected and deployed OpenText Content Suite Platform (initially in 2012, upgraded in 2014), which delivered workflow automation, secure self‑service access for external parties, comprehensive audit trails and improved collaboration. The platform eliminated delays caused by time zones, reduced reliance on email and shared drives, and now manages over 6.3 TB and two million versions with more than 70 workflows and ~2,000 documents distributed daily—providing measurable efficiency gains and a foundation for broader corporate use, reporting, OCR and records management.
