A OpenText Case Study
AAA Life, a U.S. life insurer with over one million policies, needed to launch ExpressTerm — a fast, fully online life insurance application — across a complex, legacy-heavy IT landscape. Their QA team struggled with scattered Excel-based test scripts, slow regression cycles, and the need to adopt Agile practices, test-driven development and continuous integration to validate numerous integration points and meet aggressive delivery timelines.
They adopted the Micro Focus Silk suite (Silk Central, Silk Test and Silk Performer), migrated test plans into a centralized repository, and implemented automated regression and performance testing tied to daily CI builds. The result was standardized, reusable test processes, end-to-end testing reduced from six–eight weeks to under five days, a four-fold increase in concurrent users supported and sub-two-second response times, plus faster time-to-market, cost savings and improved auditability.
