Nationwide, a Fortune 100 A+ rated insurance and financial services firm, needed to accelerate application delivery and simplify IT operations across thousands of servers supporting about 2,000 applications. The Platform Engineering Team faced siloed Windows and Linux provisioning processes, configuration drift, and the imminent end-of-life of their Insight Rapid Deployment tool, which could not deploy to new HPE ProLiant Gen9 servers—creating an urgent need for a unified, cloud-ready server provisioning solution.

Nationwide implemented Micro Focus Server Automation, along with Operations Orchestration and Cloud Service Automation, supported by Software Services, training, and Premier Support. The solution created a “single pane of glass” for Windows, Linux, Java hosting and VMware teams, standardized and accelerated builds (about 1,800 new servers/year and ~10,000 maintained), avoided more than four hires, and established an automation foundation to cut server provisioning SLA from 10 days to under one day as part of its cloud initiative.
