Voltas Limited’s Electrical and Mechanical Division (EMD), a TATA enterprise serving projects across Asia, struggled to deploy its Balanced Scorecard using Excel spreadsheets. Spreadsheets couldn’t aggregate non‑financial measures or ensure data integrity across levels and geographies, which led to misalignment among functions and ineffective strategy execution.

Voltas selected and customized Actuate Performancesoft Views (rolled out March–August 2008), adding currency conversion, a smart‑client and Excel import/export to handle complex location structures and weak connectivity. The solution enabled online reviews, consolidated KPI tracking, aligned action plans to divisional strategy and delivered more transparent, dynamic and timely performance management.
